Hospitality Management or we can say Hotel management is the field with a lot of scope and money in it but this field demands a lot of hard work, Dedication & Sacrifices.
This field is full of courses in which you can do your specialization like :
1. Food Production - As peoples call it Chef's Life which everyone think's is the only thing is hotel management course i yes one of the core departments of Hospitality but there are 3 other courses and 2 extra departments. Becoming a chef is extremely hard you have to learn a lot of terms and major and minor skills and believe me there is hell lot of thick books of oxford for learning just the terms of culinary, practicals are completely different standing for more then 12 hours in this extreme heat of gas and those rubber shoes which are extremely thick but yes you get to wear that precious chef coat.
2. Food & Beverage Service - an extremely hard service which requires a lot of dedication and knowledge of every single thing as well as they need to stand for hours and had to run and look fresh all the time this field is hard to master as there are a lot of parts in it.
3. House keeping - A department which deals with guests and their belongings every single day and work for long shifts and help customers to get their stuff arranged and clean.
4. Front Office - A department with always stays with customers and deal with them on regular basis it is a department which had to look absolutely fit and fresh all the time with a smile for hours.
And there are a lot of departments like Human resources, Food Scientist, Restaurant Owners, Management Students & ETC.
So as per people HM is only about food production or being cook first of all we are professionals like there is a difference between a cook and a chef like there is a difference between a labor who made the building and the engineer who made the diagram.
So respect the hoteliers as they work for more then 12 hours every single day just to make sure anyone who is coming to the hotel or any guests who are staying there.
Hoteliers also have family issues, we also have financial problems as we are not paid that much as what people think we are getting paid and yes we do deal with a lot of angry peoples who just takes out all of their frustration on us for no reason at all and still what the do is smile and help you so you can enjoy.
So please understand that these peoples are also humans so please at-least thank them for their service because your one sweet word can make their day.
